Flat peach
Characteristics:
The flat peach came as a result of a mutation originated in China, being subsequently brought in the United States. It is mainly cultivated in warm regions and its soil and cultive requirements are similar to those of the peach and the nectarine. There are different varieties of flat peach, which have a sort of a white pulp color and whose skin looks more greenish or reddish.
Nutritional and health properties:
The flat peach has similar nutritional properties to the peach.
It provides high amounts of water and antioxidants, and it is also rich in fibres, carotenes and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C, in addition to minerals such as potassium, phosphorum, magnesium, iron, and calcium. For all this, it helps keeping our skin at its best and also protecting eyesight. Its energy intake is of 50 kcal per 100 grams.
